Now we at ST are strong believers in the "Honor System" when it comes to dealing with battles and such, but to give everyone a helping hand and to give everyone a rough guide of what can happen and what can't, here is a rough leveling system to go by as you go about your battles and evolution.
The Levels are composed of three main Tiers, Low Level, Mid Level and High Level. Each Tier equates roughly into 30lvs if we are talking Pokémon games. So Low Level encompasses levels 1-30, Mid Level 31-60 and High Level 61-90. These Tiers further breakdown into groups called Weak, Average & Strong, these categories break the main Tiers into groups of 10.
I.e
Mid Level – Weak (ML-W) = Lv. 31-40
Low Level – Strong (LL-S) = Lv. 21-30
High Level – Average (HL-A) = Lv. 71-80
These level equivalents are relevant when teaching your Pokémon new techniques or determining when to evolve it, they are also a gauge on your Pokémon’s strength in comparison to another Pokémon.
Here are some examples of what wouldn’t happen:
- A LL-W Squirtle learning Hydro Pump
- Getting Dragonair to evolve into a Dragonite at ML-A
- A LL-A Bulbasaur 1-hitting a HL-S Charizard
Now, this system also accounts for type differences. If you are facing a Pokémon that you have a type advantage over (Going by base Pokemon type) that equates into one rank up for your Pokémon in that battle. So if your LL-S Squirtle is battling a ML-W Charmander. Your Squirtle battles as a ML-W for that battle to account for the type change.
Pokemon can go through the ranks by training, battling and if you’re lucky, by Rare Candy. If you think your Pokemon is due for a rank up please apply for it at the Evolution Board with the relevant threads, but don’t expect us to rank you up if you have only one thread to show us! No, no, no. We require two or even three decent threads to rank up your Pokemon. Although obviously, it’s going to start easy when working your way through the lower ranks and we will gradually get harsher with our grading as you proceed through the higher ranks. It’s not always going to be super easy, right?
There is also the matter of levels 91-100, These are occupied by the Almighty-Weak rank. This rank is held only by legendary pokemon and certain NPC pokemon, it is impossible to train to this rank.
As a final note, please reference the Pokemon games for what levels Pokemon evolve, learn moves and so forth. We do check and will not be happy if you try to waste our time by evolving your Rhyhorn at LL-A.
