Ulisis exited Pallet down with a new friend walking besides him; Shazzer was now his first Pokémon and his travel partner for his journey that he had just taken his first steps into. He glanced down to the blue Pokémon walking besides him a smile on its face. Clearly this is what he had been looking forward to, a chance to travel the world and become stronger. Ulisis was merely glad that he could become the medium in which Shazzer could become stronger.
Ulisis decided that it was best no to return to Viridian yet, he had only just run away earlier today. So maybe spending a few days between Pallet town and Viridian would provide him with an opportunity to avoid his Father, and it would also provide him with an opportunity for him to train with Shazzer for the first time. He had a feeling that he was itching to show what he was made of.
When they finally found a place that they would rest, the sun was in the final quarter of its cycle and there wasn’t long left before it would become dark. Ulisis set down his bag and rested for a moment, Shazzer sat himself down besides his new trainer, taking a moment to look around at this unfamiliar scenery, seeming to approve of his trainers choice of resting place. After a few moments Ulisis turned to Shazzer “Ready to see what you can do?” Ulisis asked eagerly, Shazzer shot up and with a defiant “Squirtle!!!” gave his trainer his answer.
“Alright then!” Ulisis said getting himself onto his own feet, he wondered where to start. How do you train Pokémon skills? Ulisis blinked as he realised that he didn’t even realise what skills Shazzer had. He looked at his Pokemon, trying to determine what moves it might already know. “Shazzer, Withdraw.” He said the command, Shazzer instantly withdrew inside his shell, Ulisis nodded as the Pokémon popped back out moments later, good to know they had a defensive option. Ulisis then bent down and held out his sleeping bag. “Tackle” upon hearing this Shazzer charged at the sleeping bag and tackled it. A basic attacking move, now Shazzer was a water type so Ulisis figured he could use one of the most basic water type moves.
“Water Gun”
Shazzer paused when he heard this, a look of concentration appeared on his face as he attempted to produce a sprout of water from his mouth, after a few moments he only ended up coughing a few bubbles. Ulisis looked a little disheartened at this, but perhaps he had not developed enough to be able to produce a proper water stream yet. Guess they would find out as time went on but now they had another thing to look at, “Use Bubble” Squirtle quickly replied by shooting a stream of bubbles at the nearest tree. It was a slower attack but it would be enough for now.
Now that Ulisis had some idea of what Squirtle could do it was time to figure out how he could train him to become stronger. But time had escaped them now and the sun was now sitting on the horizon, his first day outside the grasp of his father was just about to end. He pulled out his sleeping bag and lay it on the ground, he would need to stop into Viridian tomorrow to buy some food for the trip ahead. Then he had the challenge of Viridian Forest.
